Bose might be best known for high-end audio gear but it developed a suspension system for cars that could have had an enormous impact on the industry. It virtually eliminated body roll, smoothed out bumps in the road – it could even jump over minor obstacles. This video from CNET shows how it works. Unfortunately, the technological breakthrough proved too heavy and expensive to put into production and was shelved. But it was repackaged into a suspended driver’s seat for long-haul trucks called the Bose Ride System.
